After the collapse of the World Trade Center on the 11th of September, it was time to make a stand. There was a debate about the future of the site of the World Trade Center as it had a huge sentimental value. Some people wished to leave it as it is as a memorial for those who lost their innocent lives, while others wanted this building to rise again like a Phoenix that will give hope and strength to people who know that life has to go on.
The first blueprints showed how skeptical people were as they decided to reduce the habitable floors of the building, leaving an open-air structure that contained sky gardens and wind turbines. This idea was mainly thought of due to fear of future liabilities in case of another attack. But after a while, the people made their choice. The final plan was even more majestic than the original building as the new building tapered as it rose. As of 2013, it stands as the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. It is also one of the most secure buildings in the world.
