On January 22, 2007, World Trade Center & Freedom Tower redeveloper Larry A. Silverstein announced two new additions to his development team—Guy Punzi and Fred Alvarez. Punzi and Alvarez are highly skilled design architects and have been assigned as Design Managers for Tower 3 (designed originally by Lord Richard Rogers) and Tower 4 (designed originally by Fumihiko Maki), respectively.
Under their new positions each will be responsible for organizing teams of architects, engineers and consultants as construction begins. The towers are located at 175 and 150 Greenwich Street.
Punzi previously worked as a technical coordinator for Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, working on such noted buildings as the Ben Gurion International Airport in Israel and the New York Stock Exchange.
Prior to his new appointment, Alvarez served as a senior partner at Handel Architects where he worked on high profile projects such as 2200 M Street and the Ritz Carlton, Georgetown.
