NFL Honors 9/11 Anniversary On Opening Sunday

Yesterday was not only the anniversary of 9/11, but the opening Sunday of the NFL as well. While many spent the solemn Sunday watching America’s favorite sport, the people of the NFL made it clear that the anniversary of 9/11 was not far from their minds.
During the afternoon game between the Washington Redskins and the New York Giants, the league participated in the tribute to the victim of 9/11. A video of a solider playing “Taps” was the background for flag unveilings all around the NFL. The Redskins – Giants game was seen as the 9/11 tribute game, as the two teams represent the two major cities affected by the attacks.
