Canadian Company Part Of Freedom Tower Effort

A number of companies already have or soon will participate in the Freedom Tower’s formation.  One - Collavino Construction - recently earned a profile piece for its connection to Canada.

Collavino Construction is based in Windsor, but that isn’t the only thing worth noting about it, of course.  The Windsor Star’s Trevor Wilhelm reports that the company has experience building structures on several different continents, never mind countries, and its owner, Mario Collavino, received a medal of achievement “from the town where he was born in the Friuli region of Italy.”

Also, in terms of his attitude towards working on the Freedom Tower, Mario Collavino said, “I’m very proud of it, very proud.”

He acknowledged, “The people working there, they lost their cousins or their brothers or their sisters or their friends.  There’s other people working there, their fathers built the first Twin Towers.  So it’s a lot of feelings there.  You can see, just the air around there, all around is something you don’t see anywhere in any construction site.”

Collavino Construction’s job is to pour concrete for the entire Freedom Tower.  The company is being paid $352.5 million for its work.

As a recent graduate of the Civil Technology program, I am very proud of my country(Canada)for its continued support of our US brethren. May we both live in peace in this world and I look forward to seeing the finished project. I hope one day, my talents in this feild will be used to aid man-kind like this project has.

    God Bless.
