Completion Date Of 2012 Reconfirmed
If a house that’s supposed to be ready in four months takes six, and a “Coming in 2007″ shopping center isn’t done until March of 2008, it’s reasonable to worry that the Freedom Tower won’t be finished on time. But Larry Silverstein claims the completion date is firm.
Silverstein, the president and CEO of Silverstein Properties, was quoted by Ian Ritter while addressing the complex’s expected 2012 finish. “Can you count on this schedule?” he asked before stating, “You bet you can.”
Silverstein went on to speak of an “incredible construction-coordination machine.” It seems likely that the man is bringing all of his company’s resources to bear; such a visible and important project will have a huge impact on his reputation one way or the other.
Updates on the Freedom Tower’s timeline should continue to trickle out from time to time. We’ll relay them here, and with any luck, construction will stay on track.
